Christine Chartrand
Maker, Designer & Owner
I offer high quality craftsmanship with a focus on long term construction practices, technical veneering methods and the use of premium materials, finishes and components. Through joinery and comprehensive woodworking processes, I am able to transform my thoughts and ideas into something which I can share with others who also have a taste for the unusual and unexpected.

Wooden Bean is the creative expression of my acquired knowledge, skills and a clear focus. It is the culmination of seemingly random experiences and ideas combined to form something meaningful. It is the discovery of symmetry which can only come from chaos.

My background is in carpentry and I am a Red Seal Carpenter with 10 years of home building experience in Penticton BC. I studied Fine Woodworking at Selkirk College in Nelson BC where I discovered a way to integrate my building skills with my creativity. I am constantly pushing myself to take on new design challenges, develop more woodworking skills and learn different techniques while holding my work to a very high standard of quality.
I was born in Penticton, raised in the Similkameen Valley and if I'm not in the wood shop, you'll probably find me out here riding my mountain bike with my partner Stu and our good boy Reso.
